Neighborhood IQ

Finding a dream home and close the deal is the #1 big investment for most of the home buyers. In fact, home buying is not like buying a laptop or a car where you only need to care about the product itself. In addition to the property you are buying, it's more about earning yourself a spot in a nice neighborhood, and sometimes it's even more important than the property itself. Neighborhood IQ is a project to re-imagine how fundamental neighborhood metrics, such as the density of amenities, crime activities, school scores, commute time, etc., can largely change the way home buyers to find their dream home.

I am the designer leading the effort in exploring additional neighborhood data and how they can benefit the home buyers the best. The exploration includes the anatomy of the feature layout, readability/legibility enhancement on map visualization, visual filtering concept, etc. I also create an interactive prototype in React.js with Google Maps and reator.com listing API to test the ideas.
